Place des Pyramides, 3 pm, December 2009 I Joan of Arc looks like she could be riding into Paris but in fact she's already there, just off the Rue de Rivoli between the Tuileries gardens and The Louvre. Seeing it from a different perspective, you might be struck by the statue's gilded skin gleaming in the sun. But I think there's more drama in this silhouetted view with Joanie heading resolutely into the unsettled sky.
