Notre Dame de Paris, 6:30 pm, October 2010 | Photographers use the term "magic hour" to refer to the last hour of daylight when the setting sun makes all the colors seem warmer and richer. For me, magic hour in Paris is the first hour of evening, when all the lights come on and the city puts on a new face. Nothing epitomizes this transformation better than Our Lady herself, seen here from the Quai de Montebello just across the Seine.
